Zombie spoof hits the mark

In a post-“Shaun of the Dead” America, why does “Zombieland” exist? We already have a smart zombie movie spoof that ably mixes laughter with chills. Why would we need another? Besides, any attempt to outdo “Shaun of the Dead” will only end in tears: angry nerd tears.

Well, nerds, get ready to hold back your angry tears, because “Zombieland” has officially earned its right to exist. While lacking the subtlety and quiet absurdity of “Shaun of the Dead,” “Zombieland” is fun, energetic and boasts a super-secret celebrity cameo that would be unfair to reveal to you the reader who most likely stopped reading this review two sentences ago. (Ah, screw it. It’s former “Amazing Race” contestant and long-forgotten darling of the independent film scene Mike White. That’s right, Mike White and nobody else.)
